Cassel trade?

With Tom Brady on track with his rehab where does this put Matt Cassel? I feel Cassel is trade bait come draft time. I can see him going to the Lions for their first round pick at twenty, or even to the Vikings first round pick. I can’t see the Pats would pay 14 million to a back up. I mean why not ride his success to get younger on defense.
