NCAA Football Playoff System
So we all know where the hate is coming from. As of late, the State of Utah has filed a lawsuit against the BCS. Now while i agree with multiple points, I agree more so that they are wrong. Now while I do believe that the ONLY true NCAA champ will be proved by playoffs, I believe that it is a tough argument to make.
I mean its a given that Utah made a run against Alabama. I mean it wasn’t like Boise State-Oklahoma where Boise St. won the match with trick plays and such. Utah faced Alabama face to face and took the game to them and won with no argument. Showing them how much better they were. I will admit that Utah is a great team, but will not agree they are a National Champion. I know how many arguments are against the BCS, but I believe that less bids would make the BCS more interesting.
I mean the ACC has not been what it was, and the Big East has not dominated like past. I know the BCS will not disappear to make a playoff, so why not take away the bids and make it available to top teams available. In my opinion, this will not solve the problem, but it will take the first step towards finding a true number 1 team. We will one day see a playoff, but until then, let’s let the people around here decide the teams that have a chance to being the number 1 ranked team in all the land. I will always argue for a playoff, but until then let us fix our current problem with options that will make today’s decision easy for the national audience. Until then i will agree Utah deserves a chance at the National Championship but believe it will be a terrible game to watch. Your thoughts?
I agree with a playoff system you would have the same arguement. Where do you cut teams off at 8? Then 9 and 10 will bitch. 16 then takes on too long. Lets face it we will never see a playoff because the money bowl games bring to schools big and small is to great. So as much as we have school spirit for our schools, lets just enjoy the games and hope one day the voters, aka the media who votes will actually watch games and vote accordingly. What am I saying the press is my byass then us as fans.
